Stats, Puzzles, Words

We played in this puzzle game last night.

Sadly, I am not particularly any good at this sort of thing, so for me it involved a lot of being frustrated by my inability to work out the puzzles, followed by a lot of walking all over Uptown.

In the rain. For five hours.

Actually, it didn't rain for the whole five hours, but we did get to see some hail and lightning. Luckily we were in a coffee shop (not solving a puzzle and being frustrated) at that moment. That said, the organizers worked really hard and did a great job in general, and I shan't fault them or their game because I was unable to do anything useful. And congrats to the groups who solved the puzzles and had a good time. Not my cup of tea, I guess.

There was a thing a bit like this in Toronto not too long ago, sounded fun! I always sucked at treasure hunts like this though :-P My mom did one for Easter and I found so few eggs :-P

Mostly it was a long trudge through Uptown in the rain. My wife was on a different team, and they won second place, so I know she had fun. I think it might have been more fun for me if the puzzles had been of different types. They were all word puzzles, which I am not terrible competent at. Some spacial type puzzles and maybe some game-type tasks to complete in order to receive the next clue could have been mixed in, and would have made the game less frustrating for me.

It's funny you should mention that, because we have friends in Toronto who, I discovered last night at a birthday party with mutual friends, played that game in Toronto.

Actually I knew about the Toronto one because a girl from Requiem participated!
