So he got them down, poured them into the bowl, got out milk, poured, went to get spoon, came back, sat down, dug in spoon, and paused, noting that the cheerios on the spoon seemed to be curiously active.

Looked at bowl, to discover that, indeed, his box of cereal had become host to a sizable population of the many-legged.
