The novel is moving, though not at anything approaching high speed.
It's been a very interesting stretch for my poor character, Mae, what with phantom streetcars and zombie children and mythical hounds and conversations with Death and her bosses at work acting weird and Roy Orbison's songs turning up all over the place. Now, Mae faces her toughest challenge and her hardest decision.
Jill just asked Mae out.
Neither Mae not I know exactly what to do next.
I think I'm going to walk down to the deli and grab a sandwich while I mull this over.
