Lynn from Vision Loss Resources called yesterday and told me my name was next up on the list. I can start classes as early as April 12th. I asked if I could get back to her. She said sure, no problem. I need to check and see what all I have going on in April. I suspect that, because of everything (minicon, doctor's appointments, and basement work) I won't want to start until the 26th of April, if they'll let me wait that long. I'll post more when I know something.

One thing that will happen when I start at VLR; it will almost certainly put the brakes on the writing. VLR is a full-time school, 8:45 am to 4:00 pm, and if I bus to it (assuming the strike is over) I'll be leaving much earlier in the morning, and who knows when I'll actually get home. So I need to really write over the next few weeks. I can do the editorial work and re-writes during the evenings, but for the first draft I need time and few distractions.

So my goal, until I start school, is to write ferociously. Of course, I also need to spend about 3 days working in the basement, getting it ready for the guys who are going to install a drain and sump pump. I plan to start working down there today, and work in the basement the rest of the week. I just want to get it done and out of the way.

Which means there won't be any fiction writing happening until sometime next week.

Le sigh

Wow, how quickly things can move when they start to actually move.

I heard from Social Security today. I have been approved for disability. That is a tremendous load off because that means I can now focus on attending classes full time at Vision Loss Resources, which for me will start bright and earlier on Monday April the 26th. All in all I'm a bit stunned at how, suddenly, after months and months of waiting, everything just swiftly clicked into place.

WOW!
