Garg!

Dark Water Blues has clipped along at a pretty good pace, with a good mix of action and rest. But here in the middle my characters are taking refuge in a church while the folks that want them dead--or at least neutralized--lurk outside and the priests try to negotiate a truce. The whole narrative has slowed down to a crawl.

I think I'm going to have to either give my characters a reason to attempt a breakout, or I'm going to have to blow something up.
