I have another LJ friend who made it clear that right now her big concern is for her family and people who have to work in the path of the rioting and rubber bullets responses. Yeah, I'd be afraid too if I or my loved one had to go to work in a zone where people are being stupid by breaking windows and trashing buildings.
You have a right to protest, and while I believe those rights have been gravely impinged on by the local authorities, those same local authorities have a duty and obligation to haul your ass to jail to if you are destroying private property and endangering the lives of people going about their day-to-day business.
