I think the important thing here is that I am still making progress. It's slow, and sometimes painful, that that's a good description of a writing career anyway. It's slow and sometimes painful.

I think I'm at a point where I need to sit down and really analyze my own writing. Like you said, I need to figure out what is working, and improve on that, while setting aside what is not.
