In all my convention preparation, I almost forgot I have a book releasing on Monday. I’m considering some kind of giveaway on Monday. We shall see if I can come up with enough brain to decide how around all the convention preparations.

Also, my publisher is giving away books this week. I should have posted about this on Monday, but con-brain. Anyway, go here for details.

Instead of a snippet, I’m going to share the letter I wrote to the characters of Last Car to Annwn Station as I reached the final scenes of the first draft, originally posted on 18 January 2007.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Characters,
We are a mere 10,000 or so words away from the finish, so I thought this would be a good time to tell you something important.
Most of you are going to die.
Given the Rate of Character Death in my first novel (of 27 characters of any importance to the story, 15 died), I'm sure most of you were starting to breath a sigh of relief as you reached the latter stages of this book and found yourself still standing.
I apologize for the coming blood-bath. Really, I like all of you, (yes, even you, Mr. Antagonist) and it pains me that I'm now to engage in wholesale slaughter.
I am about to take out the trash, then I will open my working document and charge into the end game. You might want to take a moment to have a cup of tea, shake hands, hug, and say good-bye to each other before I return.
You may, of course, hang around on the sidelines after your death and watch the rest of the proceedings in silence. There are already a few characters waiting to greet you and offer you a chair. Also, please bear in mind that just because I've killed you, this does not mean I am done with you (nods to the undead girl). Be prepared to jump back into the game if I deem it necessary.
Best wishes and good-luck to us all,
The Writer
