Meh, a paltry 400 words today. I just wasn't able to get into a rhythm with any of my three current projects. I posted some on the SF Writer's Meetup Forum, then spent the day doing domestic things like laundry, dishes, and general house cleaning.

I think the blinding headache I've had since two this afternoon had something to do with the lack of focus on fiction today. It is only just within the last hour or so my pain has subsided enough for me to look at a computer screen.

What I did do today was read on T.H. White's The Once and Future King. I'm past the early humor and am at the part where things start to truly go downhill. I am truly enjoying it, though it probably isn't helping my headache. I also read an interesting piece about the mysteries and questions surrounding the death of U.N. Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold in 1961. I love running down all the minute details of interesting pieces of history, and I found the series of events surrounding the poor fellows death, and the political positioning and posturing that followed as everyone involved tried to pin his death on the other guy, fascinating.

[livejournal.com profile] careswen and I went to the park in an attempt to fly kites yesterday, but alas, though it was quite windy all day, as soon as we unfurled the kite, all was calm. So we walked to the old Edina Mills site, read the historical markers, looked at the millwheel, and sat by Minnehaha Creek. I now know how Edina got its name, which is an interesting tale, though not as colorful as how Hopkins got its moniker.

Well, time for a shower and then a nice comfy bed. Perhaps tomorrow things will be better on the writing front.
