The unexpected short story clocked in at just under 6000 words in the first draft. I suspect I will be able to whack it down to something closer to 4000 by the time all is said and done.
The short story collection project continues. We are still selecting which stories to include and cover art is being discussed.
Last Car to Annwn Station is heading for the wire. My hope is to finish the revisions (see,
hatfield13, I'm listening) by the end of the month. I'm going to need to develop a better process for the revision stage. It only took me three months to write the first draft, but I've been poking at the revisions since February. That's too slow and has to change.
I'll be one of the guest speakers at this month's Twin Cities Speculative Fiction Writers Network meeting, presenting on short fiction markets. I may talk a little about novel markets as well, especially small press.
