Drywall and Luminiferous Aether

The contractor came and hung new drywall today. Tomorrow he will come back and finish the sanding and whatever else needs repaired, then I need to paint, reseat the commode upstairs, and replace the wallpaper border in the kitchen. Almost there.

I started the novella last night and have continued on into today. I realized that the first scene I wrote will stand fine as a first scene, but the one I'm working on right now will likely be the third or fourth scene, maybe even later, since it involves a rather large reveal.

Right now I have a group of near strangers traveling across the plains on a train, which is about to stop because a bridge was damaged by a tornado.

Which will bring us to the collision of a ghost town that should not be, an out-of-control monster summoned for revenge, a pair of pistoleers, an English nobleman, a werewolf, an Aether Oscillator, a German inventor, a Harvard professor, a Shoshone witch, an aging U.S. Marshal, a half-fey British Secret Service Agent, a Dyno-Electro Arc-Projector, an out-of-work buffalo hunter with one of the biggest rifle made at the time, and the fastest train in the west, powered by a fire elemental.

I think I might be on the verge of it being a Weird West Steampunk Horror story.

I have no idea where this is going, but it sounds like a fun ride. I hope I can cram it all into 20,000 words
