One of the reasons I've been a bit quieter on Live Journal of late is, it's been a busy time for me from a writing perspective. And it seems as if it will continue, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Since putting the final touches on the first draft of Dark Water Blues at the end of August, I've:
Sold "At the Edge of Twilight, Melissa Remembers Flight" to the The Morrigan for their debut issue.
gerardbrennan has the full ToC on his blog. I know several of the folks I'm sharing the ToC with and am quite pleased!
Had an agent request a partial of Last Car to Annwn Station.
Completed two rounds of rewrites for the story I have scheduled to appear in Shiny.
Completed a rewrite on the story I have scheduled to appear in Breath and Shadow.
Picked up an Honorable Mention in The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror 2008.
Finished "The Horror at Cold Springs," formerly known as the Untitled Weird West Steampunk Horror novella. The title is a bit of an homage to both Lovercraft and L'Amour.
Finally finished the first draft of "Steadfast."
Finished alpha reading a novel (though I still haven't sent my comments)
Finished beta reading a novel and sent comments.
Started my paperwork and application for The Bush Foundation Fellowship.
Started my paperwork and application for the SASE / Jerome Foundation Emerging Artist Grant.
Started trying to decide what I'm reading at DreamHaven Books later this month.
Also, I have the possibility of joining a shared world multi-media inter-disciplinary storytelling project (which I'll talk more about in a separate post later).
And here I thought after I finished Dark Water Blues I'd be sitting and staring at the wall.
