Yeah. I finally stopped attending last year, and felt the same sense of relief once I'd made the decision. Convergence has put an amazing amount of organizational effort (and creativity) into dealing with the size, but eventually there's just nothing more that can be done. It's Too Many People in a finite space.
I talked to a number of people at Minicon this year who had recently given up on Convergence because of the size and decided to "give Minicon a try" instead (or come back to Minicon after some years). I hope they enjoyed themselves and return next year.
