I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome my Granddaughter, Ember Nicole Merriam, into this goofy world. Born on 28 October 2004, 7 pounds, 12 ounces, 21 inches, 4:54pm at Comanche Memorial Hospital, Lawton, Oklahoma. I told Number One Son and Daughter-In-Law to get some sleep while the baby's still in the hospital, it will be the last chance they get for a long time. Number One Son was ecstatic about his first born, and kept repeating to me how precious and adorable she is. Of course she's adorable, she's you child, newly birthed into this world.
I'm a newly minted Grandpapa at 39 years old. So what did Grandpapa do? Went over to some friend's house and, after a straight shot of Amaretto, played Dance Dance Revolution. Boogie on.
Vacation continues. We ventured Downtown yesterday, but the rain kept us pretty much stuck in the Skyway. A side note to whoever is in charge of these things. If you're going to build big pretty buildings like the IDS Tower, or have old pretty buildings like Foshey Tower, you might think about having an open observation deck, so that people can see and enjoy your wonderful city. Just a thought. We went to VLR for the graduation of a friend I made there, then poked our noses into Steeple People, where we bought a nice piece of luggage for almost nothing. Oh, and we got soaked.
Today we visited the American Swedish Institute, something
mrissa suggested. It was a great time. The Turnblad Mansion is gorgeous, and all the exhibits fascinating. Well worth the small entry fee. Tonight we head for Vic's on St. Anthony Main to see a band
careswen likes. Tomorrow is lunch with friends, then a Halloween costume party.
