One Chapter and the Dénouement to Finish...
I wrote nearly 2600 words yesterday. This is a blistering pace for me. I bumped the projected word count up again, because the last scene turned into a full chapter: A chapter which I am happy with and one that moves the story and characters forward in a good way. Now I will write the climax and the dénouement, and it shall be a wrap.
I started to write the next chapter last night, but stopped when I realized the direction the chapter was going to go originally is not the direction it can go now. This is because of things that happened in the last chapter. It is okay, though: I know what to do to fix it, and the changes are all at the front of the chapter.
The problem now, of course, is that I'm anxious to finish it, and even if I manage a 2000 word-a-day pace, that still means 4 full days of writing until I'm done. I know I won't be able to keep this pace up that long--it would wear me out and I have other commitments this weekend--but I expect to be finished by the end of next week.
