Coffee, Trains, Meetups

Busy day yesterday. Blasted through the first draft of a new short story, tentatively titled A Hot Cup At The Last Station, a 2000 word slipstream piece set in an old Victorian train depot turned coffeehouse.
Just as I finished the story I dashed out the door to catch the metro bus to attend the The Twin Cities Speculative Fiction Writers Meetup. We had a good size group, about 10 of us, I believe. We discussed the various local conventions, and plotted a takeover of CONvergence's Lit Track. Once the evil plot was in place, several members read from their latest work. I read Secret for the group, and they seemed to like it well enough. No one threw spoiled produce anyway. It had been a couple of months since the last time I attended meetup. I'm glad I went. Oh yeah, I should mention that the folks at Eye of Horus were great hosts, providing cookies and hot tea for whatever donation the members wanted to make (you did donate, didn't you?).
I realized today that I have an appointment at the Retina Center on Friday, so I'll be pretty much blinded and useless all day.
Peace, Love, Vampyric Bunnies
