Managed to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on Sunday. We didn't know it was going on until late, but we drove up to the shopping district, which sits on a hill, and saw some nice greenness.
Spent most of the day getting my writing files moved over to the new laptop. Then I spent a chunk of the day fighting with said new laptop about the formatting of my stories. The newer version of Word seemed to want to redo everything. Trust me MSWord 2003, there is no hanging indent in my story.
The other difficult thing is getting back into the rhythm of housework vs. writing I had established before I went to school. I have to re-train myself that just because something is on my to do list doesn't mean the entire list must be complete before I'm allowed to write. I have to get back into that mindset where I do housework and home projects for a set amount of time everyday, then write for a set amount of time everyday.
The novel formerly known as Move Along Home, now know as Novel A, actually shrunk today, back down to 32,000 words. I removed some text that I felt didn't advanced the story, though I'm holding it in reserve in case that changes. I also switched around a couple of scenes.
We will see how things shake down tomorrow once I've finished winterizing the backyard.
