I managed to put in some nice work today. Six hundred words on "Move Along Home", and some re-write time with "Kearsee's Tale" and "The Foundling".
I need to go to the Online Writer's Workshop tomorrow, do a couple of crits, then post something new. I need to book time with
careswen to do the final check of "Callooh Calley" before I put it in an envelope and let it start making the rounds. It is only 2000 words, so it must be tight to have any chance of selling. I need to stop writing on my Live Journal and get back to work, but...
Speaking of the wonderful
careswen, I must pick out a story for her to read over. It's convenient having my very own first reader/copy editor living under the same roof. I know she loves me, but when she gets out the Red Pen Of Doom there are no prisoners taken and no quarter given. This is as it should be. I may want to scream, wail, and curl up in the fetal position when she hands back a particularly marked up manuscript, but I know, deep down, working with her makes me a better writer.
In the "Fun Things in the Future" category, I'm signing up for at least two panels at CONvergence this year, and maybe more. I am especially pumped about being on a Star Trek: DS9 panel. Huzzah!
Well, now that I written this post, and made sure my decrepit laptop (Pentium 133 w/ 48 meg o' RAM, hold me down baby, I've got the power!) is once more functioning within acceptable parameters, I think I'll go work on "Move Along Home" some more.
Peace and Love
Michael
