Fingers crossed LJ weathers the storm, because I think it's the best social networking site by far. Incidentally, the second para really annoyed me: "The quirky site, part blog and part social network, is best known for its users' weird obsessions — like the troublesome clique of Harry Potter erotica writers..." Why do journalists feel the need to create a sensationalist angle on everything even when it's plain old bollocks?

I'd say we're safe for the immediate future. That they are still supporting the site is a good thing. Insanejournal would be my next place to land, if things go wrong here. Also, down in the comment thread, stillnotbored has some better information.
