[livejournal.com profile] careswen and I are about to start our week vacation. What we've decided to do this year is be tourists in our own town. We've lived in Minnesota for over five years now, and while we've done a bunch the cool stuff, there's more cool stuff to do. The other thing we're looking at is doing a lot of it by bus, so we don't have to wrestle with finding, and then paying for, parking. So here are some of the things we might do.

A day in Downtown Minneapolis: [livejournal.com profile] careswen has not seen many of the more interesting things downtown, so I plan to take her into some of the historic buildings, maybe do a little shopping, show her some interesting stuff. So, what are the Downtown things you'd recommend?

A day in Uptown and LynLake: Dreamhaven Books. Oh, yes. And other coolness, like Tatters for example, and too many good eateries to count. Again, tell me something you think we should do in Uptown.

St. Anthony Main/Riverplace/Mississippi Mile: Too much cool stuff to miss.

Those are the three most likely things to happen. We are definitely going to the Half-Time Rec in St.Paul to see the Tim Malloys play on Tuesday, and we are going car shopping during vacation, and we have a Halloween party to attend.

Some other possibilities include: Minnesota Zoo, State Capitol Tour, Tour the U, and several museums and such.

Any Good Ideas from my gentle (or even not so gentle) readers?
