Take the amount of closet space you have and square or cube it. That's how much crap you'll have :P Now, since you're moving to a bigger place, you'll end up with proportionally more crap the next time :)

The best advice I can give you on the actual moving of stuff, is to get dollies. It definitely saves your back and leaves you less tired at the end of the day.

We have two, one is heavy duty and the other is basically a luggage dollie. It should be enough.
