Sometimes I have to remind myself of this:

I am a reasonably intelligent and articulate person.

It’s just that I run with a crowd of people who tend to be way above the norm in brain-power. I hang out with wonderful, funny, brilliant people. Erudite people able to hold forth on topics multiple and varied with passion, reason, and intelligence. Creators of beautiful words, of beautiful music, of beauty.

People who often leave me breathless and dazed in their wake.

And so, sometimes I have to remind myself.

Write the following on a postit and stickit somewhere:

"The fact that I run with such a crowd justifies my belonging there."

I recently joined a certain group, did my intro post and freaked out half of them.

This made me chuckle. As I'm not an aspiring writer and therefore hadn't met many of you until I found LJ, I used to think the world was just full of idiots. Then, I met all of you brilliant people. Now, I feel like an idiot. But, I don't mind. I learn from you guys.

Well, I'm pretty sure the world is full of stupid people. I just don't hang around with them!

I am blessed to be around so many brilliant and wonderful people, both in real life and online.
