Take That Micro$oft Windoze!

Wictory! I has win at data recovery (mostly), despite the O/S crashing twice during the recovery process.

There were a few photos that were too damaged to save, and a few others that vanish out-right, but I saved about 90% of them and found about the same percentage in my lost writing work.

I feel so much better.

Right now the data is sitting on my thunb drive and the harddrive of the desktop. Tonight I will burn it all to a CD or three.

the missing sets went into a folder on the desktop of the guest login, so I'm not surprised they're gone. I'm glad adobe grabbed the others and kept them safe! and honestly, except for the video (.wmv) of the eagle I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] ladysea's photos were better.

I wonder if they can still be found there, Michael?

if he's already formatted it, probably not. :-( should have mentioned that right off the bat I guess.

He didn't have time last night; maybe today.

Either way, it's exciting and impressive that he recovered what he did. Yay!

I was planning to take at least one more stab at rooting out some files before SSB takes it back. I'll probably work on it tonight while I talk to my mum on the phone.

HAH! Who is made of win? I is made of win!

I found the rest of the photos and my two lost .rtf files hiding under a "recent" cluster header.

Everything is saved!

I is made of win!
