Lucky you.

22480 words to wrap this puppy up. That sounds about right.

Because I can't help myself, I've been thinking about the novel as I'm cleaning. I mean really, how much of your brain do you really need to mop the floor? And my brain, being what it is, started making lists about things concerning the novel, including the rather high body count.

the only break they take is to the bone...

Eek, earwormed!

Only one phantom streetcar?

Sorry about the earworm!

If I had a prize to give away for being the first to identify the song, you'd win it!

The rest of the phantom streetcar line is implied, and may yet get used. In the scene the streetcar is used in, the characters transferred from the phantom streetcar to the modern light rail train. Yeah, that sequence was fun to write.

Not much at all. That's the one thing I liked about working at Burger King. I'd go in stumped about some math or programming problem, and after mulling it over while doing mindless work I'd figure out a solution.

Change the name of the fast food establishment to KFC, and the math or programming problems to RPG design, and that's me.
